On Friday night I got into a intense cooking mood and cooked myself an epic dinner. I won’t go into every single thing that I made because I want to focus on the real star of the show, the miso sesame glazed salmon that I made.
I am a huge fan of fish, pretty much every kind. Cooked fish or raw fish.. salmon and tuna are my favourite both raw and cooked, and I also love cooked catfish. So I was at the grocery store this week and got myself a big chunk of salmon and decided to make a miso glaze to put on top. Here’s the recipe, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Miso Sesame Glazed Salmon
- 1 large piece of fresh salmon
- 1/2 tbsp miso paste
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- ground pepper to taste
Place the salmon on a plate and combine the other ingredients into a separate bowl.
Pour the glaze over the salmon and using your hands, coat over the whole piece of salmon.
Heat some olive oil in a pan on the stove, medium heat. When the pan is hot, place the salmon in the pan and pour the remainder of the glaze from the plate onto the top of the salmon.
Let the salmon cook on one side for 5-7 minutes, flip and let cook on the other side until done. REMINDER: Salmon is one of those proteins that can come off of heat early because it will continue to cook, so if it looks a little underdone, then that’s the perfect time to remove it from the heat.
This is my new favourite salmon recipe! I paired my piece with some green beans and sweet potato fries that I made at home:
