The Gym Is Scary – Tips For Getting Started!

The Gym Is Scary – Tips For Getting Started!

I know that sounds a bit strange, but the gym can be an intimidating place. And for the amount that I’m at the gym, you’d think I’d be over it – I can only imagine what people who never go to the gym feel like when they step inside for the first time.If I’m being completely candid with you, I still have yet to even walk into the weight lifting area of my gym. The gym I go to is two floors, and the RPM/Group Fitness studios are all on the lower floor, while the cardio and weights are on the upper. (more…)

It Is Hard To Eat. And.. GRIT.

It Is Hard To Eat. And.. GRIT.

I know, I know. This sounds like a dumb statement. The title of this post I mean. But it’s soooooo true. If you’re trying to build muscle mass, or strength, or just working out in general fairly often, you might not be eating as much as you should be.  (more…)

How Do You Stay Awake After Hot Yoga?

How Do You Stay Awake After Hot Yoga?

Yesterday was the first time the instructor helped push me harder, we were doing hip openers…. I believe the pose was… pigeon? One sec – I’m googling it…. (more…)

I remember going into my first RPM class last year in February and since then RPM has been a consistent part of my schedule. A Goal Achieved, A New Goal Set.

A Goal Achieved, A New Goal Set.

Well, it’s official. I’m a certified Les Mills RPM Instructor! HAZA!!!!! That was my biggest goal of 2017 and I did it!!! I got the news Friday morning so yay!!! In a couple of weeks I’ll officially be hired, and I’ll be able to learn all new songs and choreography and I’ll get my VERY OWN CLASS!! Isn’t that so exciting?? I have sooooo much work to do in terms of becoming a better instructor and bringing the “fitness magic” to my class. I have a lot of attending, observing, and learning to do on my own in order to find “my style” of teaching. Isn’t that so exciting!? (more…)

What A Week – BUT Good News!

What A Week – BUT Good News!

As you know, this week was off to kind of a rough start because I had caught the dreaded cold that is apparently making its rounds quite quickly. I managed to pretty much steer clear of dairy and I ate some pretty awesome food while being very healthy overall. Tonight I celebrated my healthy achievements with some saaaa-weeeeeet sushi and it was amazing… as always. (more…)
